I want my quilts to tell a story, without having to tell the story for the quilt in words, like the quilt above, where World Trade Center flag found in the rubble 3 days after the Towers fell, was brought out onto the ice by the police and firemen at the Olympics in Salt Lake City.  On the other hand, I love to write.  I have written many essays and a few poems, so if you're just drifting across the Web and want to pause for a minute, indulge yourself in one of my essays.  There are quite a few of them, so here are the links to them all.

To Go Or Not To Go  /to-go-or-not-to-go.html

There is vitality, a life-force, a quickening that is translated through you into action. And because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. If you block it, it will never exist through another medium. It will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is…It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. - Martha Graham

"We can do no great things, only small things with great love."  - Mother Theresa

"When the eye, the hand, and the heart come together, that's when you get the greatest art." - David Hockney
