Life's a Beach!
Come on to the Beach and Catch a Wave! In this easy, fun, workshop, you will make a sandy beach in the morning, complete with shells and rocks and a ripple of water; then in the afternoon, you will make a crashing wave. In the process, you get to play with all kinds of fun STUFF - Puff Paint, sheer melted fabrics, fabric paints, Angelina fiber, Tintzl, melted painted cellophane and tiny beads. Supply fee: $20 includes patterns & directions; iridescent cracked ice; Puff Paint, MistyFuse; Tintzl, cellophane, LiquidBeadz, sand, Totally Stable, PFD fabric, use of fabric paints, metallic paint powders, heat gun, wood burning tool, parchment paper, sheer fabrics as needed, and Shiva paint sticks.
Note to Workshop Chair:
We need about 5 irons/ironing surfaces for the class, and two extra tables for painting/drying.

Materials for you to bring for the Sandy Beach scene (Everybody will make one of these):
- Several small shells and small, flat rocks
- One flat focus shell (mine was a sand dollar)
- One piece tan or brown cotton fabric, 10" x 12"
- Silver, white iridescent, and gold glitter
- Package of "white" heat bondable Angelina fiber
- Two to four paintbrushes ¼" to 1" wide
- Fat quarters of white and/or iridescent sheer fabrics like sparkle organza or perle metallic sheer (for beach and waves)
- Apron
Materials for you to bring for the Wave:
- Small pieces of white satin, acetate, or other shimmery white fabrics
- Fat quarters of white and/or iridescent sheer fabrics like sparkle organza or perle metallic sheer (for beach and waves)
- Pencil
- Several small Dixie cups or plastic cups
- Iridescent fine white glitter
- Scotch tape
- White plastic garbage bag
- Lots of pins (I like the extra fine glass headed pins)
- Scissors for fabric
- Ultra fine Sharpie marker
- Rotary cutter and board
- Small portable fan and/or hair dryer
Optional Materials:
- Heat gun if you have one
- Wood burning tool (and a cookie sheet) if you have one
